Welcome, German readers!
The German translation of WE'RE IN TROUBLE has hit the shelves, with the title BIS AN DAS ENDE DER NACHT, out from Goldmann...

Dear Christopher, I just read your "Bis an das Ende der Nacht" - congratulations! I think it is excellent. I am looking forward to your further work. I haven´t read the original (yet) but got the feeling that the German (Bavarian?) translation is also very good. All the best, Michael
I just finished "Bis an das Ende der Nacht", and I really like. I´m touched by your stories and by many of the feelings. I feel like there is a lot of said between the lines. Thank you for these stories All the best Christian
Yesterday I read the first story (it has the same title as the book in German - "Bis ans Ende der Nacht") in a bookshop during my lunchbreak - sorry about that. Heading back to work I felt still absorbed, almost dizzy. The three sub-stories are so incredibly sad, I could not stop thinking about it the rest of the day and I still do. After the first sub-story I was sure that I was going to buy your book but the second just killed me. Well, I am going to buy it anyway hoping there will be some sunshine on the next pages (and if not, I will go through this, your writing is just too captivating).
Seriously, I have no idea how you do this: no particular effects, no drastic language, nothing one could describe in a few words really, but it touches me like no book ever touched me (and I do read a lot). This is great stuff. Thank you and all the best.
Dear Christopher, I read the german translation of your book (Bis an das Ende der Nacht) already a few hours ago (really late I know...) and I am simply excited. It's a long time ago that I read short stories like this. Congratulations! Hope to read a new one soon. Best wishes, Isabelle

BTW, there was *very* favorable short review of your work, which I have yet to read, in the German weekly Der Spiegel (42/2006).
